Create a more modern brand and redesign the website to fit the new visual style.
As the freelance designer I owned and the led the entire process including:
The existing logo had served my client well for over 20 years but was feeling very aged and he wanted his new brand to feel more modern and professional.
As a nod to the old logo, I decided to keep the small house icon but made it larger and decided to use a magnifying glass as the door of the house suggesting inspection.
With so many years spent with a simple black and white logo, I wanted to brighten things up with some combination of blues and grays keeping it professional.
The client was very pleased with the new branding and immediately had me create new business cards. He wanted to share his new brand at an upcoming convention even though the website was not updated yet.
I produced the following sketch over some Tex-Mex with the client. Because the business didn't have a lot of content we decided on a one-page design that met all the goals and objectives.
I later translated that sketch into a clean wireframe.
